Custom URLs on Google+ for everyone!

UPDATE 30.1.2015 Google+ Help Center articles renewed

Now the information in the official Help Center for Google+ users about the Custom URL's is separate for profiles and for business Pages.

When you have a custom URL, you can give people a short, easy-to-remember web address to find your Google+ profile (like google.com/+LarryPage). it will be preassigned based on things like your name. And you may also need to add a few letters or numbers to make it unique to you.

Important: You can’t change your custom URL after you create it, so be sure you like yours before you finalize it.

Here are some screenshots from the Google+ show:

Creating a Google+ Page for business

Below are helpful links about creating a Page on Google+ and how to link your website:

Don't create a Google+ profile with anything else except your own name!

One doesn't have to have a personal profile anymore before one can create a Google+ Page.

update October 1, 2014: Google Hangouts extension and apps no longer require a Google+ Profile.
------------------------
It's not widely known, but you are not required to have a Google+ Profile to manage a Google+ Page or Page-connected YouTube channel. A Google+ account can manage up to 100 different Google+ Pages (each with its own YouTube channel), all without a Profile.  Read more from +Peggy K blog, here.

When creating a page from your profile you can separate the Page and create a password for it and also get a Gmail & YouTube channel (Hangouts on Air!).

From Google:
"Google+ makes connecting with people on the web more like connecting with people in the real world. It's recommended that you go by your first and last name because it will help you connect with people you know and help them find you.
This policy applies only to Google+ profiles. Google+ profiles are for individuals.
If you want to use Google+ to represent someone or something other than yourself -- like your business, your band, your family, or your pet -- you should create a Google+ page instead."

Don’t try to please anyone on Google+: Be yourself!

I started on Google+ with no-one I knew, even today only a handful of my IRL friends are here.

I'm no techie or celebrity, just an ordinary middle-aged female from Finland. I love sharing my thoughts and photographs, posting (hopefully) interesting content, engaging in conversations and helping out Goobies (newcomers).

I don’t know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everyone...
- Bill Cosby

The words from Bill Cosby have been my guideline on social media and blogs, I'm not a willing part of any popular clique, just doing my thing all along.

If a nobody from a small country can achieve to be in so many circles (thank you, my dear Circleverse!), then anybody can. It just takes time, effort and perseverance.
And posting in public, getting noticed for content.

Hangout on Air with Good Day Google Plus

I was in the first Good Day Google+ live Hangout on Air show by +Chef Dennis Littley:
Also taking part were the semantic search expert +David Amerland and the Hangout Helper +Ronnie Bincer.

Good time was had by all!
If you wish to see the questions the public asked, check out the Google+ Event.
